German plush toy brand Sorgenfresser will make its UK debut with a host of toy characters designed to eat children's worries.

Distributed in the UK by Coiledspring Games, the worry-eating monsters are designed with a zipped mouth to encourage children to share their dreams, nightmares and worries with the cuddly characters.

Once children have written down their concerns, they can zip them up in their monsters' mouths. Parents can then remove the 'worries' overnight, encouraging open communication.

Each Sorgenfresser - literally meaning worry-eater - is uniquely designed, encouraging collectability.

Roger Martin of Coiledspring Games said: "Sorgenfresser really are one of a kind. We've already had extremely positive feedback from parents and children and we're sure they'll be a great success in the UK.

"Sometimes it can be difficult for children to speak to an adult, for whatever reason. Sorgenfresser provide comfort and reassurance and encourage communication.

"A problem shared is a problem halved, and this is a great way to teach children just that."
