Woolworths has tipped Dr Who, Spiderman and Transformers to top the Christmas sales charts.
Publish date:

Announcing its top ten forecast, the chain predicts that the hit 80’s robots, Transformers, will be among the big sellers following this summer’s movie release, which has thrust the brand back into the spotlight. Meanwhile, In The Night Garden, the BBC’s new pre-school show from the makers of Teletubbies, has been tipped to follow-up the success of Tinky Winky and friends.

Character Options' Dr Who line is expected to continue its strong run and Hasbro's Spiderman is expected to retain its popularity following the success of the third film in the recent series.

Woolies believes Eternity II will dominate the board game sector with the promise of $2 million to the first player to successfully arrange the complex 256 piece puzzle.

Nick Hill, head of toys at Woolworths, said: “This is the best Christmas line up for years. We have retro toys, technology and a board game that determined dads will be trying to crack in the hope of landing $2million.”
