Schleich has promoted Wilmot to country manager following six years at the firm, where he has worked hard to grow the business and brand in the UK market to where it is today.

Michelle Rhodes (pictured) also joined Schleich in June as national accounts manager and boasts a wealth of toy trade experience, having worked for companies including Lego, Hasbro and Mega Brands.

Rhodes commented: “It’s good to return to the toy industry after having a short career break - it can be hard work but it’s always good fun.

"I have great respect for the Schleich values of imaginative play and high quality, and it’s certainly a privilege to be working with a premium brand that’s a leader within its toy category. Everyone here at Schleich has been welcoming and I am really excited about my future role."

Laura Bull also boosted the team back in September 2010 in the newly formed role of marketing manager.
