Wicked Cool Toy has teamed with Alchemy II to relaunch the iconic Teddy Ruxpin brand the world over.

Scheduled to make its return in autumn 2017, the relaunch of the franchise will span toys, content and a comprehensive licensed merchandising programme, all set to breathe a new life into the children’s entertainment property.

Teddy Ruxpin launched onto the scene in 1985 as the world’s first fully animated talking toy.

The new look Teddy now aims to engage with a new generation of kids, incorporating cutting edge technology with the values the bear was best known for when it launched over thirty years ago.

“Teddy Ruxpin’s play-pattern and infusion of technology was way ahead of his time back in the 80s, and with continued massive parental awareness it’s the right time to bring back this coveted brand,” said Michael Rinzler, co-president and founding partner, Wicked Cool Toys.

Jeremy Padawer, co-president and partner of Wicked Cool Toys, added: “We are embracing the past and making Teddy Ruxpin as adorable and engaging as ever, while innovating Teddy with features that will amaze parents and their tech-savvy children.”

Wicked Cool toys will now be meeting with potential partners at Kidscreen Summit in Miami, New York International Toy Fair and more in the months to come in order to best develop the Teddy Ruxpin brand.
