The figures mark the highest attendance to the show since 2006 and builds on the success of Autumn Fair 2009 and Spring Fair 2010, which both saw an upswing in visitor numbers.

Among the many independent retail visitors, the fair also saw retailers attending from Argos, Asda, Debenhams, Hamleys, Harrods, Hobbycraft, John Lewis, Sainsbury's, Tesco and many more.

Visitors were also presesnt from 76 different countries, with 6.5 per cent more attending from overseas than in 2009.

MD, Louise Young, commented: "We raised the bar yet again for Autumn Fair this year and the result was an extremely strong transactional event for the great majority of suppliers who took part.

"Our exhibitors pulled out all the stops to help retailers gain that crucial edge in a competitive market."
