This year’s exhibition took place over 25,000 square meters, an increase of 19 per cent on last year and attracted 30,384 trade visitors from 71 countries.
International visitors were present from major buyers including Carrefour, Mattel, Toys R Us, Wal-Mart and Disney.
Domestic visitors also rose by 26 per cent to 22,560. Jackson Wong, director of exhibit accounts and show services of TIA said:
“It is the first time that the TIA has organised members to attend this fair. They all thought the fair was very helpful for finding clients and I am confident that more members will attend in 2009.”
More than 90 per cent of Chinese exhibitors were factories. Sue Brennan, manager of Divisible by Zero, a visitor to the show, commented: “We have made orders with two Chinese exhibitors for their wooden toys and puzzles at the fair – We’ll definitely be back next year.”
Next year’s China Toy Expo will take place from October 14th to 16th at Shanghai New International Expo Center. For more information, visit the website.
