A company is seeking funding for its wooden kids' tablet that doubles up as a construction toy.

Tinkermite wants to generate $15,000 in funds for the Tinker Tablet toy, which is 'designed to inspire creative kids aged three and up'. It is seeking investment on crowd funding website Kickstarter.

The front part of the Tinker Tablet can be slid off to reveal a classic wooden puzzle. Each piece represents a technology component in a tablet or smartphone.

The idea is that kids will learn about technology as they complete the puzzle.

On the front of the Tinker Tablet there's a magnetic dry-erase screen that kids can draw on.

Tinkermite says it will use the money from Kickstarter for manufacturing, testing, insurance, licensing and other legal fees.

The company is formed of Jacob Sullivan, Kenji Yoshinari, Tony Bundy and Nick Peters. The team has experience in producing products for kids, having worked for companies such as Uglydoll, Microsoft, Techno Source and more.
