US: Toy trade title is sold

Sandow Media has acquired Playthings magazine from Reed Business Information for an undisclosed sum.

In addition to Playthings, the publisher purchased Interior Design magazine, Furniture Today, Gifts & Decorative Accessories, Casual Living, Home Accents Today and Kids Today.

Founded in 2002, Sandow Media is a multi-channel media company focused on luxury brands online and in print. With over 285 employees nationwide, Sandow Media produces over 200 publications annually.

Reed Business Information purchased Playthings in 1998 from Geyer-McAllister Publications. The magazine has covered the toy business since 1903.



Saitek sold

Electronic games specialist Saitek has been acquired by video games peripherals manufacturer Mad Catz for around $30m.
