US: Staples expands product offering with early years toys

Expansion will see the addition of eight new categories to its retail stores.

Staples has revealed its plans to expand its product offering into gifts, early education toys and learning aids across the US and online.

As part of its new business initiative to ‘help customers make more happen’, the expansion will see the addition of eight new categories to its retail stores.

The firm plans to refresh nearly 20 per cent of its products, adding about 1,600 items in its new categories, including gifts and cards, organisational accessories and early education toys and learning aids.

“At Staples, we are committed to providing every product needed to succeed, and our expanded assortment gives customers more of what they want, whether it’s instore, online or via mobile,” said Mike Edwards, executive vice president, merchandising, Staples.

“The new categories we’re adding to our stores further build on our expanded Staples.com assortment to help our customers make more happen.”

In addition to the expansion, Staples stores will now feature an updated Staples.com kiosk, ‘offering customers access to a wealth of new products.
