US: Rider toys recalled

Master Toys has recalled 6,000 of its toys in the US after a lead paint scare.

The US Consumer Product Safety Commission Wednesday announced a voluntary recall of Cowboy on a Horse Little Rider Toys, due to excessive lead paint.

The battery-operated toys, featuring a cowboy riding a horse, are about 8.5 inches tall and 7.5 inches long. The rider, sitting on a brown horse, is wearing blue pants and a red shirt.

The toys, made in China, were imported by US firm Master Toys and Novelties.

About 6,000 of the toys were sold in discount stores between April 2007 and January 2008. No poisoning incidents have been reported.
