CPLG, the North American licensing agent for the brand signed the deal, which will see Playmates Toys create a line of toys and collectibles for the Mexican wrestling sensation.
For the first time in North America, Playmates will launch the Lucha Libre AAA exclusive toy and collectibles line in autumn 2010. The range will include fully-articulated Luchador action figures, role-play masks and play-sets.
Lucha Libre has been established in Mexico for over 75 years and in addition to the upcoming line of toys and collectibles, Cookie Jar Entertainment will distribute the first English language Lucha Libre AAA television series in the US.
