The firm placed the UK office, headed up solely by Chris Panteny, into voluntary liquidation. The UK business will now be handled direct from the Netherlands via its Hong Kong office.

CEO Jeroen Bakker said closing the UK office is a step Nikko did not anticipate on earlier, but was necessary due to the changing European market.

UK buyers will be invited to visit the Hong Kong showroom to view the 2010 R/C range, which will be backed by year round TV advertising if there is enough trade support.
