Tomax is celebrating after its latest product - bicycle noise maker Turbospoke Classic - sold out to retailers just one month after launch in the UK and Ireland.

Turbospoke Classic - created by brothers Tom and Andrew Maxwell (pictured) - is a development on the original 'card in the spokes' toy, bicycle exhaust system Turbospoke, which launched in 2009.

The product has a universal fitment and uses super durable sound cards to give any bike a cool engine sound. Children simply need to fit a Turbospoke Classic to their bike, slide in one of the two sound cards and they're away. As soon as the wheel turns, the noise begins and the harder the child pedals the louder it gets.

Turbospoke Classic is priced at £5.99. Smyths and Halfords are just two of the stores which have snapped up the product.

"it hits a great sweet spot between novel design and impulse price that make it a perfect stocking filler," said Mike Fitzgerald from Turbospoke's Irish and UK distributor.

Tom Maxwell from Turbospoke added: "The reaction to Turbospoke Classic has been incredible. We knew that the price point, coupled with the cool fun, would make it popular but to experience a sell out to retail so soon after its arrival is brilliant. We're now busy making sure that we have enough to cope with further demand."
