Triathlon raises £25K

This year's big Toy Trust fundraiser raised an initial £25,000, but donations are still coming in.

A total of 15 teams took part in the first Toy Trust Alternative Costume Triathlon including Vtech, Vivid, Skew Design, Character, Golden Bear, The BTHA, Hasbro, Tomy/Treasure Trove, Learning Curve, MGA/Zapf, ToyNews and the BBC.

The day saw teams take part in a 17-mile bike ride, a 5km(ish) run and then finally to build a raft and race teams around a buoy and back.

Learning Curve’s Clive Wooster was the winner of the cycle time trial, Matt Jones at the BTHA, winner of the run, team BBCW (Hadrian Thomas, Thomas Merrington, Craig Newton, David King, Katie Allsop, Emily Lester and Lisa Caroll) won the raft race and Team Hasbro (Don Wheeler, Graham Pullinger, Sara Marshall-Munoz, Paul Stewart, Dougal Grimes, Rajveer Jassal, Martin Rowe) won the overall team trophy.
