The firm has reported its Toymaster business is up by 126 per cent, again reflecting relatively better times for the independent retailers.

Treasure Trove’s orders are also up by 90 per cent standing it in good stead for the next quarter.

Business director Elizabeth Nield commented: “We are not letting the grass grow under our feet. The last 15 months has seen us take on SES Creative, Breyer and Safari.

“SES and Breyer have both contributed to our first quarter growth, while our Sticky Mosaics line is up 152 per cent over 2008.

"We are yet to see the benefit of Safari, the new Quercetti packaging and a major new product launch scheduled for July.”
