The largest trade fair for the children’s product industry returns next month, with UK firms being urged to make the trip over to Cologne for Kind und Jugend to potentially unearth some hidden product gems.

The show runs from September 13th to 16th at the Cologne Exhibition Centre, with around 950 exhibitors from more than 40 countries displaying product across kids’ toys, apparel, furniture, safety and baby and toddler sectors, among others.

The majority of hall space – some 85 per cent – was already rented six months before the show’s start date. And the event’s organiser, Koelnmesse, is confident of building on 2011’s successful outing.

For UK firms, the main draw will be the chance to meet up with international key accounts. Companies will be attending from major European territories, while there will be dedicated pavilions for Australia, Turkey, the US, Taiwan and China. In addition, the British Baby Product Association (BPA) will be bringing some 50 participants to the show.

Well-known toy names exhibiting will include Worlds Apart, Tomy Europe, Mumbo Jumbo Toys, Mamas & Papas, Magmatic and Hippychick to name a few.
