The retail body is currently inviting and assembling a range of sponsors with Flair, Mattel, Ravensburger and Vivid already all on board.
The association is again expecting an exciting contest, especially after the success of the past two years.
The objectives of the awards are to create excitement around the toy industry and elevate the profile of toys and Lion Mark retailers. They are judged across Britain in four regions: Scotland and Northern England, Wales, Midlands and East Anglia, South, Channel Islands and the Isle of Wight, plus Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland.
Multiples and independents will be able to enter themselves or be nominated by one of the sponsors. Nominated stores will be sent an entry form including a multiple choice questionnaire covering such criteria as customer service, staff training, marketing and advertising and selling techniques. They must return this with five specific photos including: the shop front entrance, team photo, cash desk, merchandising example and promotional hotspot, plus a further five photos of their choice.
As well as Flair, Mattel, Ravensburger and Vivid, the judging panel will include representatives from trade magazines and a mystery shopper organisation.
