ToyTesters.TV has unveiled the highlights of its first ever ToyTesters.TV Awards.

The awards, presented by children’s TV presenter Nigel Clarke, saw children vote for the best toys and games of the year with the results revealed at an event held at the Sky Super Screen at The O2, London.

The evening consisted of a series of movies, starring the children and the Head Toy Testers; an elite panel of five children discovered by the ToyTesters.TV team during the testing sessions.

“What a remarkable night," said Gemma Gallagher, founder of ToyTesters.TV.

"What a talented bunch of children and what an achievement. To hear a huge crowd of children shouting out the names of the toy that they thought should win was just magical. The evening was packed full of entertainment and was hilarious. It’s was an evening that many people (children, parents, toy industry colleagues and the Toytesters.tv Team) will treasure for a very long time.

"Every year, we see numerous awards where retailers, industry bodies and various organisations announce the top toys of the year. But what happened to asking the children? We thought it was about time things changed. Who would have thought Bugs in the Kitchen would win Most Fun Toy of the Year? It just shows that there are a great many products out there that don’t get the recognition they should. There were a few surprises, but that’s the beauty of it; children will vote for the toys that they get the most enjoyment from, and that’s all that should count when it comes to Top Toys of the Year – what the children think. I really can’t wait for next year.”
