Now in their third year, the awards, organised by the consumer toy website, ToyTalk, are open to any new toy or game released in the UK in 2011.

Entries to the awards enjoyed healthy growth last year and the upward trend is expected to continue this year.

Toytalk editor David Smith, commented: “We gave out awards in 19 categories last year and we were delighted to get entries from such a large and diverse range of companies.

"This year we are expecting even more entries and the online awards ceremony will be greatly expanded, with a brand new website being unveiled on September 23rd.”

Previous winners in the ToyTalk Awards include Tomy, Spin Master, Scalextric, Schleich, LeapFrog, Lego Duplo, VTech, Re:creation, Flair, Little Tikes, Worlds Apart and many more.

The closing date for entries is August 31st and entry forms can be downloaded at toytalkawards.co.uk.
