Taking up residence on Bank Street in Carlisle city centre, 49-year-old Mandy Middleton has opened a new independent toy store, Toys n Tech.

Using her knowledge of the toy market from working at Hawkins Bazaar for two years, Middleton has filled the store with a raft of alternative toys she believes to have proven popular. As well as those she personally enjoyed.

Speaking with Cumbria’s in-cumbria, Middleton stated: “Most of the stuff I would sit and play with.

“We’re having as much interactive stuff as we can so that kids can have a go with stuff because I think it’s important for kids to come and have a look and for parents to see it before they buy it, get it out the box and have a look.”
