Peter Jenkinson has announced the winners of the first ever Toyology Outoor Toy Awards, as decided by kids. Check out the video below to see what won.

The event took place at John Ball School in Blackheath where the judges - 30 pupils aged eight and nine - had a day to play with 60 toys representing six different outdoor categories: Team and Family Play; Construct and Craft, Ride-on, Blaster, Get Active and Flying Toys.

Reflecting on the day’s proceedings, Jenkinson told ToyNews: “It went amazingly well. Couldn’t have been better…it was just fantastic. I’m overwhelmed actually, the kids performed brilliantly, the toys were great. We had the finest selection.”

He added: “It was the single most tiring day of my life, 30 kids, 60 specially selected toys, one playground and two hours – utterly brilliant insight and loads of fun too, just about enough time to rest up before the 2013 event.”

As Jenkinson stated, when it comes to deciding the winners, leaving it up to the kids is “the only way to do it”.
