Toy Trust ready to ride

The full line-up for the Toy Trust’s Big Kids Bike Ride has been confirmed and ToyNews will be providing regular updates on the ride as the teams progress.

Tomy, Character Options, Vivid Imaginations, Mattel, The Entertainer, Lego, Halsall, Hasbro, Treasure Trove, BTHA, Golden Bear, Norton & Co, Leapfrog, RC2 and Flair are all taking part.

The route is from John O’Groats to Lands End starting on Saturday, September 2nd and finishing on Friday September 8th. ToyNews will be posting regular updates and pictures from the ride through its website and email newsflash service.

The total distance is split into 10 different legs - John O’ Groats to Glospie; Glospie to Aviemore; Aviemore to Perth; Perth to Devils Beef Tub; Devils Beef Tub to Shap Fell; Shap Fell to Warrington; Warrington to Kidderminster; Kidderminster to Churchill; Churchill to Oakhampton; Oakhampton to Lands End Hotel.

The size of the different teams will vary as will the distance undertaken. Some will be doing only 10 miles while others will cover up to 90 miles, dependent on the number of experienced/competent cyclists in team.

The aim is for each leg to raise £10,000 for the Toy Trust via sponsorship.

Bike Ride heads for home straight

Teams of riders from Flair, PR firm Norton & Co, Treasure Trove and Leapfrog are on the road for the Big Kids Bike Ride today, taking the ride as far as Churchill near Bristol in readiness for the final leg tomorrow.

Fun Day becomes Big Kids Bike Ride

Due to a clashing of the BTHA Fun Day and the World Cup final it has been decided by the Toy Trust Committee to replace the annual Fun Day with a ‘Big Kids Bike Ride’ this year.
