Toy Story goes 3D

Both the Toy Story films and the forthcoming third film will be receiving the 3D treatment.

Disney Studios plans to debut digital 3-D versions of Disney-Pixar's Toy Story and Toy Story 2.

A new 3D Toy Story will open on October 2, 2009, followed by Toy Story 2 3D on February 12th, 2010. Both films will be released ahead of Toy Story 3, which is being produced as a 3-D motion picture and is slated to open June 18th, 2010.

John Lasseter, director of the first two Toy Story films and chief creative officer for Disney and Pixar Animation Studios will oversee the creative side of the 3-D conversions for Toy Story and Toy Story 2.

Toy Story 3 confirmed for 2009

After much speculation as to when, or even if, the movie would be made, Disney has confirmed that a third instalment of the Toy Story series will arrive in 2009.
