The deal with DRi Licensing will see Martin Yaffe launch a range of plush, beanies, single articulated figures with accessories, a ride-on, musical TV, bath toy and play-sets in the autumn.
Alicia Davenport, DRi’s licensing director said: “This is another exciting step forward for the Zigby property and we are delighted to be working with Martin Yaffe on the production of what looks set to be a beautiful, colourful and appealing range of toys.”
DRi was appointed by Studio 100, the worldwide agent for Zigby, to manage the licensing programme for the property in the UK and in addition to the TV series and toy deal, a number of other licensing developments are imminent in an array of product categories.
Ronnie Yaffe, managing director at Martin Yaffe International added: “I am thrilled to have been appointed master toy licensee for Zigby; it is the perfect addition to our stable of much-loved children’s character licences.
“The launch range will be available autumn/winter 2010, with a full complement of products in stores by 2011. I am very much looking forward to working with DRi Licensing on this new and exciting property.”
Zigby’s adventures began in a series of pre-school books, which have been brought to life in the animated series.
