TOY FAIR DAILY: GB Toys picks up One Direction gift collection

Golden Bear's older kids division to offer 1D phone accessories, charms and more.

GB Toys, Golden Bear’s older kids division, has announced that it has been awarded a UK deal for distribution rights for a new One Direction gift collection along with licensee rights to develop a brand new range of 1D bears.

The new gift collection will be launched this spring and will comprise a selection of Mobile Phone accessories, 2D Nails, Dog Tags, Singing Key Charms to name but a few.

The 1D collection of 1D bears will be unveiled at Toy Fair and will all feature photo prints of the band.

Speaking of the news Barry Hughes General Manager of Golden Bear and GB Toys, commented: “This new deal will add a totally new facet to our portfolio and will open many new opportunities both for our companies and our retail partnerships. In the world of teen and tween girls’ heroes, there is no one bigger at this moment than One Direction we are very excited to be able to be part of the licensing programme.”

Further commenting, Gabbi Langdorf from Global Merchandising Services who brokered the deal said: “We are delighted to have GB Toys on board with our 1D merchandising programme, both as distributors of the gift range and as producers of a new plush collection. With this great company on board, we hope to further the experience of the millions of One Direction fans who are eager to collect memorabilia of their favourite band.”
