In a statement issued to suppliers, boss Noel O'Connor said: " I would like to take this opportunity to thank Toymaster, both staff and members, for all their help and co-operation in the past, and I wish the group all the best in the future.

"I have decided that I need to move my business in a different direction, and I have decided to enter the Youngsters group in order to pursue this objective."

The news will be a welcome boost to Youngsters, which last week said goodbye to long-serving managing director, Keith Elmer and comes on the eve of its annual suppliers conference in Maidenhead.
