The deal will see Turner Broadcasting channels Cartoon Network and Boomerang partner with the studio for Alvin and the Chipmunks and Horton Hears a Who.
Alvin and the Chipmunks, out this Christmas, mixes CGI and live-action and stars Jason Lee (My Name is Earl), TMi will create a 30-second spot and website. The website will be a chance for fans to sing along to three karaoke tracks from the chipmunks’ album due out to coincide with the film release. There will also be a competition on the site for a winner to host their own Chipmunk Karaoke party.
In Easter 2008 Fox is releasing a film of the Dr Seuss story Horton Hears A Who (pictured). Shot entirely in CGI the film is voiced by Jim Carrey in the title role and also features Isla Fisher. This will be the third Fox film that TMi creates a bespoke campaign for, details of which will be confirmed nearer the time.
