The firm has signed distribution deals with Esdevium in the UK and Fred/Funagain.com in the US. The US deal was agreed after a successful launch at Essen Spiel in October.

In About Time, players compete to guess closest to the year of an iconic event. Whoever is nearest to the correct year wins tokens. These can be forfeited or increased during the game through duels, plagues, highwaymen and the use of strategic Time Cards.

A magnetic card reader ensures that all players take part in each round so there is no waiting around for a turn. Whoever has the most tokens at the end wins.

The game is launching in 12 Borders stores in London, Brighton, Oxford, Cambridge, Glasgow, Liverpool (Speke and Cheshire Oaks), Bournemouth, Norwich, Edinburgh (Kinnaird) and Tyneside (Silverlink) as well as various independent retailers and gift shops across the UK.

Circa Circa managing director and co-inventor Joe Gill said: “It’s been a long road to get to this stage, but with our Borders launch and distribution deals with Esdevium Games and Fred in the US, we are really excited about the prospects for the game over Christmas and into 2008.

“About Time is a great party trivia game, with fantastic mechanisms like the cardholder and beautifully designed components, board and box. People are telling us again and again that it is better than the competition in the trivia game market. We seem to be pushing on an open door.”
