Copenhagen-based High Street retailer Tiger has appointed Xavier Vidal as the new CEO of the Group.
Vidal succeeds Christian Mariager who leaves Zebra – parent company on the Tiger Group – to pursue a more active career as non-executive board director.
The new CEO steps in to the role from the position of managing director of EMEA at The Body Shop and boasts broad and international experience within the retail industry.
“It will be very exciting to start working with Xavier Vidal, whose personality and experience make him a strong fit,” said Ole Andersen, chairman of Zebra A/S.
“Tiger will continue the last years’ rapid store expansion, sales growth and simultaneous strengthening of the organisation.
“In that context, I would also on behalf of the board of directors, like to recognise and thanks Christian Mariager for his great contributions to tiger’s development the last years and wish him continued success in his new career.”
Having started as a single store in Copenhagen in 1995, tiger now boasts more than 411 stores, selling toys, gifts and more, across 25 countries.
