A Milton Keynes toy firm has received a business boost from the Dragons’ Den star Theo Paphitis.

Last week, Simon Read, owner of Blue Frog Toys, tweeted Theo about his business during ‘Small Business Sunday’, an initiative set up by Phaphitis that takes place every week.

The Dragon then retweeted Simon’s message to his 250,000 followers and as a result, @bluefrogtoys has 200 more followers and has seen a rise in orders at its online toy store,

The business has also been profiled on, a website showcasing Small Business Sunday winners.

Read said: “We’ve only been in business two years and we still work out of a small business unit. It is great to have support from Theo because it’s been tough trying to raise our profile and Theo has recognised our hard work and helped spread the word about our ToyTastic products and proud support for the Children’s Air Ambulance to his following.”

Anyone looking for a re-tweet from Theo should tweet him about their business on Sunday between 5.00pm and 7.30pm and include the hashtag #SBS.

Six lucky businesses are retweeted every week and then invited to enter their profile on the website.
