A board game based on the popular cult TV series The Walking Dead has risen to life on the crowdfunding site Kickstarter.
Developed by Cryptozoic Entertainment, the game takes players on a journey through the Walking Dead universe as they fight off both the dead and the living in a co-operative gameplay.
Titled The Walking Dead: No Sanctuary, the game has already secured over 50 per cent of its $250,000 goal from a current total of 1,070.
Created under license from US broadcaster AMC, The Walking Dead: No Sanctuary is the latest title from Cryptozoic Entertainment, the team behind the recent Kickstarter success Ghostbusters: The Board Game.
“Your favourite characters and scenarios from the hit AMC show all appear,” reads a description of the game via its crowdfunding site.
“Expect to see miniatures based on the characters played by Andrew Lincoln (deputy Sheriff Rick Grimes), Steven Yeun (Glenn Rhee), Laurie Holden (Andrea Harrison) and Norman Reedus (Daryl Dixon).
“The Walking Dead: No Sanctuary board game is designed by Adam and Brady Sadler who have made BoardGameGeek’s top designers list multiple years in a row.”
Each character boasts unique abilities that can only be shared if they are trusted by other survivors, while each player has the chance to lead the group, changing the team’s overall gameplay and strategy.
The Walking Dead: No Sanctuary’s Kickstarter campaign ends on August 1st. Click here to view the project or watch the video below:
