The LEGO Movie snubbed in Animation category at Oscars 2015

Instead, the film picked up a nomination for Best Original Song.

The LEGO Movie has been snubbed in the Best Animated Feature category at this year's Oscars.

The film missed out on a Golden Globe last week, losing to How To Train Your Dragon 2 in the Animation category, but was widely tipped to be in the running for an Oscar.

Instead, up for Best Animated Feature at the Oscars 2015 are Big Hero 6, The Boxtrolls, How to Train Your Dragon 2, Song of the Sea and The Tale of Princess Kaguya.

It's not all bad news for brick fans though, as The LEGO Movie did recieve an Oscar nod for 'Everything is Awesome' in the Best Original Song category.
