Newly formed creative studio The Geek Tailor has revealed a new inclusive doll in the form of the Darcy Curl Doll.

Founded by an ex-Microsoft PR, Phy McCarthy, The Geek Tailor aims to create, design and take to market children’s characters that truly reflects today’s society. The Darcy Curl Doll was created in collaboration with McCarthy's six-year-old daughter.

“Today, inclusion and diversity are hot topics of discussion. I have had first-hand experience of the challenges that can arise from not seeing yourself reflected in mainstream society since the 1980’s. For my daughter’s generation sadly little has moved on” said McCarthy.

"I set up the studio by accident. It started with my continued frustration around the lack of ethnic toys in mainstream shops and my Change.Org petition. But that didn’t feel like enough. I wanted to make a conscious move from talking to action with inclusive characters which everyone can relate to.”

Darcy Curl is18 inches (46 cm) tall with a high grade plastic vinyl and half soft cloth body. Her body proportions are based on the average seven-year-old girl. The doll is available online at DarcyCurl.com and Amazon.
