Thames and Kosmos is continuing to build out its board gaming portfolio with the addition of a slate of titles from the popular publisher, Devir Games.

Games now account for 32 per cent of Thames and Kosmos’ UK business, a growth it is looking to maintain through new global and international partnership and portfolio additions.

Devir Games boasts a large audience across South America, Spain and Portugal. Originally published in Spanish, most of the marketing efforts for Devir’s portfolio have been made in Spanish-speaking countries.

Thames and Kosmos’ German parent company was the first to release a select number of Devir’s titles to the European market.

Included I the Devir collection is the popular Check Point Charlie – a card game of observation and deduction – and Holmes: Sherlock and Mycroft, where players must gather evidence to deduce and win.

Thames and Kosmos have also brought the kids’ game 1,2,3, Fast Food Fear, Barcelona: The Rose of Fire, Castellers, Dragons and Chickens, Dungeon Riders, Picnic and Michael Strogoff into the fold.

Joanna Drage, sales director at Thames and Kosmos, said: “We are thrilled to be the nominated distributor for the esteemed Devir Games in the UK. We have developed such a strong relationship with the founders, Xavier Garriga and Carlos Fernandes, who share our passion for the board game space.

“Devir has a great range of affordable, but quality, strategic children’s games and also some more complex strategic games for families or groups of adults, both of which fit into and widen our portfolio well.

“Our board game market is developing very quickly and we are keen to maintain this growth, and we feel that these additions really compliment what we can already offer.

“With Devir being popular in South America, Spain and Portugal, and Kosmos Games are very well known in Europe, the US and increasingly the UK, this is a great fit.

“The UK’s board game market is booming and anyone in this sector wants to be part of this continuing growth.”
