Castle Combe was the second in series of Team Scalextric Mini Challenges this year.

Fans of the classic slot racing toy were pleased to see Team Scalextric take to the wet Castle Combe track in a pair of Scalextric-branded Mini Coopers.

The brand building event was covered live on the Sky channel Motors TV.

Adrian, Scalextric Promotions Manager said; “It was a great race but what made the day special were the amount of Scalextric fans who came to see us in the Pit area.

"Some of the fans were from the Scalextric Club, of course, but many were regular Scalextric customers who were very excited to see us and tell us of their layouts and collections. The slow-down lap at the end of each race was also fantastic with Scalextric fans clapping and waving. A big thank you goes out from Team Scalextric to all the fans at Castle Combe."

Scalextric fan Mark Rizzo said: “What a great day I had at Castle Combe today with my family, my boys loved it. I would like to thank all the guys and girls at Team Scalextric and especially Adrian Norman and Patrick Mortimer for their valuable time they took to talk to me and sign my Scalextric 2012 catalogue.”

The next Mini Challenge will take place at Brands Hatch race course on June 16th and 17th – fans are able to book their place in the Team Scalextric Pit at www.facebook.com/scalextric
