Epoch Making Toys has been named one of the fastest growing toy manufacturers of 2014, thanks to a surge in sales for its hit brand Sylvanian Families towards the end of the year.

The collectable toy brand saw an 87 per cent increase in sales month on month in December, making it the best-selling property within the Play-set Theme category last December.

The firm has also revealed that its best-selling item – based on YTD sales – was the Cosy Cottage Starter Home, the success of which, the firm has stated, ‘proves that the company’s strategy to focus on recruiting new fans to the brand has worked.’

The Forest Nursery also achieved impressive figures, selling the most units out of the whole Sylvanian families range, while the Chocolate Rabbit Family proved to be the most popular selling family.

“Our successful Christmas campaign undoubtedly saw the culmination of a year’s hard work to re-invigorate the brand come in to fruition,” said Graham Brennan, managing director of Epoch Making Toys.

“After a positive Toy Fair last week, where we launched the new ranges and kicked off the brand’s 30th anniversary celebrations, we are now in a really strong position and 2015 looks to be an exciting year for Sylvanian Families.”

Sylvanian Families will now be celebrating its 30th anniversary on March 20, this year, with a range of consumer and retail events planned throughout the year.
