ToyNews spoke to a wide selection of retailers to capture their views on the brands and products which have supported their business throughout the year. Mattel came out as the Most Important Supplier ahead of Flair and Hasbro, while Character Options’ Doctor Who range won several plaudits including Most Important Supplier and Best Marketing Support.

Many predicted that its Cyberman Voice Changer Helmet would be the most popular product this Christmas.

Despite the persistently tough trading conditions most of the retailers contacted are expecting Christmas to be at least on a par with last year and the vast majority expect sales to exceed 2005 and most are confident of having a good 2007.

Other categories included Hero of the Year, Highlight of the Year, Biggest Disappointment, Best Customer Service and Best Margins.

A full breakdown and analysis of the results can be seen in the new issue of ToyNews, out today.
