Spin Master's tech deck is back for 2018, boardsliding into a gnarly partnership with Rubicon's Skateability, a new skate training scheme available nationwide.

With the growing popularity of skateboarding and the sport recognised for the first time in the Olympic Games in 2020, Skateability provides coaching to tens of thousands of boys and girls each year through schools, councils and other organisations.

Spin's tech decks are the only authentic miniature decks on the market, featuring real graphics from some of the sport's top brands.

Tech Deck allows kids to build and customise their favourite boards, and then let their fingers do the skating as they flip and spin around the mini ramps and rails.

Skateability has been designed as an introduction to skateboarding and to improve the safety of young people as they learn, featuring three key levels which aim to support the rider and give them confidence as they progress.

"Ensuring we reach new and current fans at a grassroots level is essential for a brand like Tech Deck where cool by association and word of mouth drive that all-important buzz in these communities," said Phil Hooper, commercial director, marketing for Spin Master UK.

"We are very excited to launch our partnership with Skateability as we celebrate Tech Deck’s 20th Anniversary and continue to be a champion of the action sports community.”

Skateability has been designed with safety in mind, getting kids into the sport with three key levels which aim to support the rider and give them confidence as they progress.

“Over 150,000 children have already received skateboard coaching from us in the last decade and the launch of the Skateability scheme highlights our commitment to helping the sport grow further at this exciting time," added Skateability co-ordinator Geoff Else.

"We are delighted to have the support of our headline sponsor Tech Deck and we look forward to helping a new generation of riders together.”

Spin Master will also be supporting the original finger boards extensively through an exciting digital spring campaign, and with a host of new products now well into development for summer launch, Tech Deck is set for a kick flip of a year.
