Special praise for DKL, Ravensburger and Adams

Three Special Recognition Awards were dished out at the UK toy industry's big bash last night, to recognise innovation and over-achievement.
Publish date:

DKL (Hama Beads), Ravensburger (Puzzle Ball Globe) and John Adams (Coinmaker) each gained praise from retail and the industry alike for their efforts over the past 12 months.

Awards were given out in front of 400 industry peers at the Toy of the Year Awards organised by the Toy Retailers Association.

"There are some great toys and toy companies out there that, perhaps because of the type of product or vastness of the range, are less likely to win the big awards. But tonight we have put this right for three very special companies and three very special products," said TRA president Val Stedham.

Buoyed by a TRA special recognition award this year and the continued success of its Hama Beads creative line, DKL is expecting further growth in 2007 with its Corolle dolls, Viking plastic toys and Wonderworld wood ranges. Ronnie Dungan speaks to MD Kai Hawaleschka about its steady progress?
