A new range of collectable football player figurines will be handed out to thousands of footie fans at stadiums.
Creative Toys Company is in talks with top Premier League football clubs to get its SoccerStarz toys promoted outside stadia on match days.
The SoccerStarz line – which has already been picked up by Tesco and Toymaster – will launch in August. It consists of £1.99 blind bags and £2.99 blister packs, which display the player inside and come with a stats card.
“We are talking with Liverpool, Arsenal, Manchester United and Chelsea for us to go to a match, set up a stand outside and give SoccerStarz away to people for free,” Creative Toy Company’s trade director Glenn Barnard told ToyNews.
“We will hand out leaflets with a QR code in, so consumers can scan it, like us on Facebook or Twitter and watch an online promotional video.”
Creative is also kicking off other marketing activities, including online competitions, football club magazine promotions and a TV campaign. The latter has over 2,000 spots scheduled to appear on channels like CITV, Sky Sports, Disney and Cartoon Network.

Creative says it has received enquiries from thousands of retailers worldwide about the SoccerStarz range. And it plans to grow the line even further in the months to come.
“We are aiming to have Spurs, Newcastle, Celtic, Real Madrid and Barcelona on board too,” added Barnard. “The target is to have as many clubs as possible. We will probably expand into other categories and sports in the future.”
