Smyths, which opens its first UK store at Chadwell Heath this week, is looking to make an immediate impact by claiming that its price for the new Harry Potter book, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, is the cheapest available.

The firm has a limited stock of 500 copies of the book available at the £4.99 price in a bid to drive footfall into its new store.
