US toy firm Small World Toys has appointed Cuckoo Ltd as its official UK distributor.

The global manufacturer of arts and crafts, fashion, science and educational toys and games has appointed Cuckoo as it invests in new development, expansion and marketing within the UK.

Small World Toys – a subsidiary of the Orda-Creative Group - has called the Cuckoo distribution platform an invaluable asset for its portfolio of “unique and innovative” properties.

“We are extremely excited with the appointment,” said Michael Sacks of the Orda-Creative Group.

“Cuckoo Ltd is one of the leading toy companies in the UK and a great addition to our growing branded portfolio. It is the perfect complement to our existing branded toys and game business and further strengthens our leadership position.

“By combining the strength of the two companies, we hope to create an entity the power of which will be much stronger than the sum of its parts. Cuckoo Ltd distribution platform will become an invaluable asset for Small World toys Orda-Creative Group’s vast portfolio of unique, innovative and proprietary products.”

Cuckoo has confirmed that it is excited by the prospects of the new partnership.

Tony Eves, MD of Cuckoo, added: “We have been extremely impressed with the help, support and professionalism given to us in selecting our first collection.

“This transaction validates our ongoing efforts to move ahead after being the distributor of Alex for ten years. We look forward to working together and extend the fun and creativity of the Small World line.”
