Slimmed down Smoby to re-emerge

A new trimmer Smoby will re-emerge following the winding-up of its UK office as part of its change of ownership.

The firm was put into liquidation today but will be reborn as Smoby Toys UK Ltd as part of its new era under the ownership of the Simba-Dickie group.

Staff numbers have been reduced from nine to four, retaining sales and marketing manager Rob Goodchild, sales director Gary Wood, finance director Caroline Ward and operations manager Sonia Pateman.

New offices will be announced soon and in the meantime, customers should continue to deal with the firm in the usual way.
