Show numbers boost AIS buying group

Increased exhibitors and visitors at its two-day Play-Room have boosted AIS' confidence in its toy buying group.

With membership of the group having doubled from last year to 60 members, with 135 outlets between them, exhibitors and visitors were up at its two-day Play-Room at the Park show held this week (April 20th-21st) at its Cranmore Park HQ.

Last year's inaugural show had solid exhibitor numbers but was criticised for the lack of visitors. This year's event saw a big increase over the entire two days.

Play-Room controller Joyce Daly told ToyNews: "If you had told me two years ago, where we started this, that we would be where we are now I would have said it's impossible.

"Having done this in other sectors I know it will build over the next few years. I'm absolutely certain we will have more members next year and more visitors at the show.

"From the point of view of the future of Play-Room, it's fantastic. This is a very nice place to do business and the atmosphere is very conducive to that.

"We're never complacent and we know we've got to work hard, but I'm confident it will grow."
