Screen dream for Brand Licensing

Studios flock to participate in Screening Suite at this October's event.

Brand Licensing Europe is doubling the size of its Screening Suite as big name studios have been queuing up to join in.

Disney Consumer Products, Lucasfilm, Marvel Entertainment, New Line Cinema, Sony Pictures Entertainment and 20th Century Fox are all lined up to take part.

The Screening Suite is a purpose-built cinema situated within Brand Licensing Europe. Following a highly acclaimed launch last year, it will take over the Pillar Hall at London's Olympia on October 2nd and 3rd.

The six studios will have the opportunity to present sizzles, teasers, trailers and licensing opportunities for forthcoming movies to an invited audience of retailers, licensees and promotional marketers from all over Europe.

"The Screening Suite at Brand Licensing 2006 was the most successful feature area we've introduced since the event was founded nine years ago, with exhibitors hailing it as a unique and powerful promotions tool and visitors providing equally enthusiastic feedback," said Jessica Blue, event director.

"This year, we have an even stronger line-up of studios taking part, and we are expecting to be dazzled by their presentations."

Show organiser Advanstar is also introducing a new visitor registration system for this year's event based on smart barcodes, which will ease visitor registration, data management and entry into the Screening Suite.

Exhibitor numbers are up 45 per cent on this time last year, with recent signings including The Licensing Company, Mattel Brands Consumer Products, Nelvana Enterprises, Pokemon and Rainbow Productions.
