Portuguese toy company Science4you has signed a deal with the University of Oxford to create a range of co-branded science kits.

The first range comprises of seven sets, each approved by the University of Oxford, including Plants, Volcano, Chemistry 1000, DNA Detective, Solar Car, Excarvations T-Rex and Stegosaurus.

"This partnership sees one of the world’s most prestigious universities join forces with one of the youngest and most dynamic companies in this market," said Miguel Pina Martins, Science4you CEO.

"By joining the University of Oxford we take the next step in our mission to demystify science to children around the world."

Price points for the kits start at £9.99 and the range is due to hit shelves in September.

"Oxford’s rich history of scientific research and discovery provides a strong platform of relevance to support the proposed science kit range at retail,” added Hannah Aspey, head of brand and communications at Oxford Limited.

“Science4you has already established a good track record of working with academic institutions in Portugal, and we look forward to an equally productive and successful relationship with them as an Oxford licensee.”

The contract between the two is for three years, and more kits are planned for distribution across Europe throughout this period.
