Samsung launches new children's tablet

Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 Kids will launch in Korea this September with UK and EU dates to follow.

Samsung Electronics has revealed its own Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 Kids, an electronic learning tablet for children.

The latest release features an array of top ranked children's apps as well as a brand new Kid's Store, aimed at driving the educational possibilities of technology for children.

The tablet's pre-loaded content includes, educational games, entertainment and e-book apps. It also offers parents the ability to select the apps they want their kids to have access to using using the Application Manager.

Furthermore, the new children's electronic learning device allows parents to set specific time periods for use, locking the screen with a password when the time is up.

JK Shin, CEO and head of IT and mobile communication at Samsung Electronics, said: "It's no secret that kids are using technology more than ever before.

"we saw an opportunity to create a device just for kids that provides them with an intuitive, fun and kid friendly user experience filed with rich, interactive and educational content that parents will love."

The Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 Kids will be available in Korea in early September and subsequently across China, europe, US, Africa, South America and South East Asia. The UK availability is yet to be announced.

The tablet will feature a range of accessories including, a child friendly case with grip and multiple stand options. The case will also come equipped with an easy to grip C Pen, offering drawing capabilities without leaving a mark on other objects.
