The growth of the exhibition from a 7,000m² area at the first event to 10,000m² this year is said to be due to the growing Russian market.

Toy Russia takes place in the Crocus Expo Exhibition Centre from the 11th to 14th March 2009 and although the exhibition application deadline is not until the end of October, many international companies have already registered.

Russian companies registered so far include Alisa Enterprises, Ltd., Begemot, Elf Market, Ltd., Simbat, Russky style and Toyko-D.

As many as 133 manufacturers from 20 countries took part in the premiere in 2008, which attracted 4,645 toy traders and buyers.

The Russian market covers some 20.6 million children. With rising prosperity, their parents spend proportionally more money on the children, and toys account for 20 per cent of the “budget for kids”. The industry’s turnover is approximately four billion USD, with a rising trend.
