The founder and managing director of Paul Lamond Games, Richard Pain, has passed away.

Richard went into hospital for a routine minor operation on Friday, May 20th but sadly had a severe stroke on the operating table.

Unfortunately the damage was too great and he never regained consciousness. Richard passed away on Thursday, May 26th 2016.

Richard was a pivotal part of the games and puzzles industry for over 30 years, not just in the UK but across the globe, creating and producing renowned games that are currently sold all over the world.

“When I broke the devastating news to the team at Paul Lamond we all agreed, without hesitation, that Richard would have wanted us to keep the company going and running smoothly," said Richard Wells, sales director at Paul Lamond and current acting managing director.

"That is exactly what my fantastic team here at the office, led by Sandra, David and Sophie and our team out on the road, intend to do, for Richard’s sake as much as anything else. For now though all our thoughts are with Richard’s son and his family at this very difficult time.”

Details regarding Richard’s funeral will follow and information will be posted on the company’s website at www.paul-lamond.com.

Richard Wells can be reached on the office phone number: 0207 254 0100 or via email richardw@paul-lamond.com and he will also be at Distoy this week.
