Murder mystery entertainment firm, Red Herring Games has made the Pitch to Rich shortlist of 150 start-ups vying for a share of £1m in funding.

The team of writers, designers and creators of murder mystery party packages will now go on to the next round of the nationwide competition, in which they pitch their business to a panel of expert judges.

Led by entrepreneur, Richard Branson, the campaign kicked off last month with the aim of finding the brightest and best businesses in the UK.

The winners across each category will receive £250,000 to fund their marketing activity, funds that should the team win, will be spent on expanding its murder mystery game portfolio and offer the Red Herring Games murder mystery event service to more hospitalities.

“We are thrilled to make the shortlist and are excited to hear the judges’ comments as they review our pitch in more detail,” said Jo Smedley, managing director at Red Herring Games.

“Murder mystery entertainment is an enjoyable activity for all the family and we can see Richard Branson enjoying the game with his own extended family. Alternatively, he is more than welcome to attend one of our own murder mystery events.”
